Clear Goal Setting Helps To Clearly Define Your Road Map To The Buried Treasure!...

By Ishmail Downes

People often underestimated the importance of goal setting, don't be one of them. Wouldn't it be great if you were handed a map that CLEARLY illustrates where you can find buried treasure? Well, start goal setting and you'll have the equivalent. When you set CLEAR, SPECIFIC goals, you become excited by knowing EXACTLY how to get to the treasure!...

Meaning, all you have to do is follow the map!

What's that? "goal setting is hard", did I hear you say?...

Yeah I know, it can be, but as soon as you make it a habit, you'll become better and better at it, on top of that, you'll no long see goal setting as such a chore. It's just one of life's designs, have you noticed everything worthwhile achieving, ISN'T easy! I actually like when things are hard because it makes me feel that I'm on the right track, and I'm certainly weary of anything that's TOO easy.

Generally, it's the minority that bother to set goals, and to me that, in itself, is a good reason to do it, why? Because the average person's life is NOT where they want it to be, so therefore...

A good rule of thumb is, to use the 'majority' as a CONTRARY. So, if the majority don't support goal setting, you do the OPPOSITE!

In short, if you want to have the best possible chance of making a success of your life, you really should set goals, but...

Are you clear on what it actually is you want to be successful at?

PUT IT INTO PERSPECTIVE

Here's the thing, though I'm pro goal setting, I'm anti setting certain types of goals ahead of others. In other words, it's incredibly important to prioritise your goal setting. Do you get what I mean? NO...

I better explain then...

It makes absolutely NO sense goal setting to achieve buying a car stereo, when you don't even have a car yet! I say this in reference to getting first things first, and this is never more so true, when it comes to planning out your DREAM life! I always urge people, before they set out to follow any type of self improvement strategies, to ensure that their foundational values are rock-solid because this effects everything you do!...

So basically, make sure YOU have STRONG foundations FIRST, before you start making any plans to rule the world. Trust me, you'll thank yourself, and me hopefully, for it!

Onwards and upwards...

In wrapping up this article, I'll quickly pinpoint what elements a good plan should have...

Your desired outcome or goal. Ideally this should be broken up into smaller goals, with each being clear and precise! For example, I want to be retired by the age of 40 with 2 million pounds in the bank and mortgage free. Attaining your goals should be logical, structured and more importantly, believable!

I want you to bear this in mind...

The MOST important goal you can ever set in life, is to live a passionate, meaningful, abundant, life!... Any goal that is not working towards achieving this, can't be THAT important!
